JEANS FOR ALL!
Dressing according to the shape of your body is an absolute yes for any lady who likes to look good. A knowledge of your body shape and styles to suit will set you apart and ensure you look good always no matter the cost of your clothing. Now we look at the basic body shapes and the jeans cuts that will flatter each of them.
Rectangular: This body type is not common. Shoulders and hips are of equal width, with little waist definition. Bust size is average, rib cage large, waist not marked, flat butt, and thin legs. Tend to gain weight in the abdomen, thighs and love handles, and tend to have a little pot belly. Look for jeans that hug and lift your bottom. Larger back pockets that are spread far apart will make your bottom look fuller. If they have flaps on them, this is even better, as this adds some bulk to your bottom. Jeans with lighter fades on the thighs will help give them shape. You will look great in jeans that have a low-rise and that are a straight fit from the hip to the knee with a slight flare at the end. | |
Pear Shape: Rounded hips with defined waist. Full rounded hips andbottom. Narrow shoulders and small bust. Tend to gain weight in bottom and thighs and are prone to saddle bags while their stomachs remain relatively flat and their waists small. You'll be amazed at how easy it is to camouflage a large rear end.
You want to look for jeans or pants that are flared or have a wide-leg, this will help hide your thicker thighs. Straight legged jeans are also a good for a sleek slimmer look. Go for mid-rise dark jeans (the darker the better) and dark pants. This gives the illusion of a slimmer hips and bottom. Be sure to check my Jeans for your shape page. Stay away from tight jeans with too much detail on the hips or bottom, such as flaps or embroidery on back pockets. This will only draw the eyes right to your problem area. Stay away from pants with bulky side pockets.
Stay away from tapered jeans or pants, this is something you never ever want to wear. The narrow and tapered legs will only make your hips appear huge.
Stay away from high-waisted pants as these tend to make your bottom look larger.

Your over all figure is the easiest to dress because most things look great on you. Our goal is to draw attention to your waist and accentuate those feminine curves without adding size to your hips and shoulders.Look for jeans that are cut with larger hips, and a smaller waist. You also want to look for jeans that are slightly flared, or have a wide leg, this will balance out your hips. Mid-rise jeans are the way to go, especially if you are carrying some extra weight in the tummy, but low-rise jeans work great for you as well as long as they are not too low.
